CHURCH!
Next year my Wife and I, along with our four children, two pigs, a bunny, and lizard, are moving to Kansas City, MO to plant a church. It’s been a long time of praying. It’s been a long time of preparation and planning. And it’s been an even longer time of allowing the Holy Spirit to shape and mold our family into who we are today.
What we’ve learned as a family over the years, is that our calling beyond the shadow of a doubt, is to champion people. We’ve lived this out in so many shapes and forms and feel confident that all was in preparation for what we are heading into next year. We’re excited to see all that the Lord has ahead of us in this new season of life and ministry.

Why
Missouri?
For many years we’ve felt pulled in our hearts toward the state of Missouri. Ministry speaking, we’ve long had this picture in our hearts of our family playing a part in planting a small bible church in the Midwest — over the last few years, that picture has grown into a calling. Personally, we’ve desired the pace of the Midwest, the weather of the Midwest, the trees of the Midwest!
The Story
In Progress
For the last 18 years I’ve lead teams, staff, volunteers, and congregations. I’ve taught at Christian universities, written a book, developed church leadership systems, and launched multisite campuses. All, in what I believe, as preparation for what we’re walking into in Kansas City, MO.
The story starts something like this ...
Stacey came to me one evening many years ago and shared that she had seen a picture of our family in the Midwest. It immediately struck a chord in me. She went on to share that in the picture, she saw a small red barn with some stained glass, and pews. She asked…
“What if it’s a picture of us Pastoring a community there?”
The seed was planted. And as our family has grown, that seed has grown as well.
In the years that passed after that conversation, the Lord has kindly nudged, gently pushed, and at times shoved us in the direction we’re now heading as new church planters.
We’re excited, honored, terrified and elated to get on the ground in Missouri. To build a church at the pace of relationship. To pastor and love a community to display God’s glory, build courageous people, and engage in society’s pain.
We can’t wait to get started.
BIG NEWS!
We are so excited to announce that Tim and Taryn Hesman have decided to join the Living Streams Kansas City team! This newly married couple has been a part of Living Streams Phoenix for 5 years and can’t wait to see what God will do in Kansas City, MO!
After graduating from Grand Canyon University, with degrees in Worship Arts (Taryn) and Worship Arts & Communications (Tim) they both desired to move back to the Midwest to be closer to family, but were praying for the right opportunity. When invited to join the Del Turco family in the work of church planting, after a ton of prayer and consideration, they happily agreed. Unbeknownst to Tim and Taryn, God had already placed the suburb of Lee’s Summit, Missouri on the heart of Nathan and Stacey to plant LSCKC—Tim’s hometown! Both are currently pursuing Masters of Divinity and are humbled and amazed at Gods grace and kindness in providing this opportunity to step into ministry. Serving as the Associate and Worship Pastors, they are eager to serve LSCKC and to see the ways that the Lord will move in this community.”

We need your financial support. We’ve built a budget that will cost approximately $250k a year. This includes salaries for us & two additional staff, some moving and sabbatical expenses during the transition, and ministry expenses for when we hit the ground in Missouri. Our hope is to raise the first 2-3 years before we move.
This is audacious. This is impossible. But, not to the Lord. If you feel led to give, we would be very grateful. And of course, also pray for us. Pray for our family. Pray for our team. Pray for our new community.
